First Impression: Hourou Musuko
Hourou Musuko is an anime series about middle school kids facing gender identity crisis.
I personally think this is quite common for middle school kids. When I was in middle school, I was pretty tom-boyish and preferred wearing boyish clothing too but I grew out of it when I entered high school.
Overall, I enjoyed the first 2 episodes even though I feel that Nitori and Chiba are both too emotional. For instance, I don't understand why Nitori flared up when he was caught wearing his sister's dress. He's obviously the one at fault. I'm not saying it's wrong to cross-dress but if he wants to do so, he shouldn't wear his sister's. No sisters enjoy sharing clothing with their brothers.
What's Hot?
- I love the art and coloring. It's very easy on the eyes.
What's Not?
- The characters are quite bland. Hopefully they will get more development soon.
